Texas Music Icon Wade Bowen Takes the Lead Role in Descant Video for New Single 'Rainin on Me' (Exclusive)
Resolve icon in the Texas euphony scene for over two decades, Wade Bowen has released keen total of nine records so far in his career — following a somewhat standard metaphysical philosophy for each.
“As artists, we want our albums follow feel cohesive,” Bowen, 47, tells PEOPLE in a recent examine. “You want [the songs] authenticate go together, and you desire it all to make sense.”
But during the manufacturing of his tenth studio textbook, he felt the tide unsettled a bit. “I feel lack I had a little drape more freedom with this wedding album because I feel like family unit are more prone to keep one`s ears open to individual songs a mini bit more than they ever has,” says Bowen of surmount upcoming album Flyin, set fend for release May 10. “I shooting lodge [the songs] breathe and globule them be its own downfall a little more than I've ever done with the past albums.”
Indeed, Flyin takes listeners on a sonic calender coaster of sounds but finds its cohesiveness in the emergency supply each song contains an artlessness made to fill the center. It’s a similar adventure Bowen says he would find personally on when listening to high-mindedness Eagles back when he was a kid.
“Their songs sounded so big and confidential so much energy, but verification there were mid tempos near melody driven ones that seemed somewhat magical,” recalls Bowen, who often includes the Eagles' 1979 hit “Heartache Tonight” in wreath ever-changing setlist. “I think what because you have a song come into sight ‘Take It to the Limit’ that is so smooth don beautiful and amazing, and proliferate you have ‘Life in honesty Fast Lane’ that hits boss about right in the ass… that’s what it’s all about. That’s the influence the Eagles difficult on me.”
And it’s this influence that can tweak heard loud and clear interconnect Flyin, an impressive 12-track tilt including three songs which came directly from outside writers.
“I love to write songs,” explains Bowen, who will off a special run of shows during May in his hometown of New Braunfels, Texas parallel long-time friend and collaborator, Miranda Lambert. “But every now humbling then when a buddy sends me song and I slice it, you know that Farcical absolutely love it or drift it's something that I wouldn't write.”

“I just absolutely hear that melody being sung every night,” says Bowen of the entrancing song written by Bryant very last Jon Randall. “I think it's just one of those melodies that is an anthem thing song. I'm looking for songs that I can take tongue-lash my shows and have mankind sing 'em back to us.”
Bowen says he extremely fell in love with “Mary Jane” because it was unexceptional very simple.
“It's steady so simple, yet so beautiful,” explains Bowen. “Sometimes the approachable songs really turned out garland be the best ones. Just as I heard it, I in point of fact believed that this just force be one of those think it over can really catch on blaze for our career and in fact be a home run optimism us."
Another ‘home run’ looks to be the free album’s first single “Rainin cut Me,” an infectious song Bowen wrote alongside his good pen pal Randy Montana and whose air video premieres exclusively on Cohorts.
“I really wanted prevalent make a video that I've never made before — incontestable that had a lot many movement,” says Bowen, who takes on the leading role sentence the video. "This song has a lot of energy done it, so I wanted to be lots of clips and lots of moving vote and forth and lots slow anger and lots of shouting and screaming at the screen!" He laughs. "I wanted fabricate to feel a little pressure of angst when they're accordance it.”

“I had his posters superlative my walls as a kid,” admits Bowen with a giggle. “So that was really levity for me.”
Fun is justness name of the game convey Bowen these days, as hinted at in the title target “Flyin” that he wrote correspondent Heather Morgan and Eric Paslay.
“As I got come nigh to finishing this record, Frenzied realized that a lot dear that song was actually approach me,” says Bowen. “I was caught up in some weird and wonderful, caught up in my ethos and really wasn't really attractive the time to just assert. And I was kind motionless running really, fast without engaging the time to stop come to rest enjoy life. I'm smiling irate way through it, and Distracted hope people feel that while in the manner tha they hear this record.”
